Combo Assignments will be available by August 31, 2009

Instrumental Auditions
Large Jazz Ensemble Auditions- Jazz Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble, Latin Jazz Ensemble

Requirements include:
Sight reading
Anthropology by Charlie Parker tempo half note=approx 116
*Melody and one chorus of blowing BY MEMORY! (only jazz majors)
Play along will be with the publication “10 Bebop Classics-Jazz Play Along [Vol.5] Hal Leonard”
Scales possibly
Bass/Guitar/Piano-will need to play melody, walk a chorus, improvise chorus on Anthropology.
Drums-will need to play with metronome at half note=116 playing time while complimenting the melody, sight reading may be required with play along tracks.

The director of the ensemble reserves the right to make personnel changes in the first week of rehearsals and also reserves the right to create a call back audition if necessary.


Vocal Jazz Auditions- Vocal Jazz Ensemble
